David Jolly is Determined to Destroy Florida with DEI

He relishes defying the law and dragging the Sunshine State through costly litigation

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – David Jolly is making his priorities clear: if elected governor, he wants to revive the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies that prioritize race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation over merit and equal opportunity, the principles that have made our country exceptional for more than 250 years. Jolly made that clear at a Florida A&M University town hall indicating he would use executive action to revive DEI programs that were outlawed by the Legislature. Jolly is excited for a lawsuit.

“We’re going to do that by executive action and make them sue us,” Jolly said. “Make them sue us. Make them stand on the wrong side of history for once. We’ll do it.”

Jolly would create a “safe harbor” for DEI programs through executive guidance, letting agencies keep funding them if they cite a “socioeconomic justification.” He added that he would not “violate the Constitution” but would “test the limits” of the law.

“David Jolly just admitted he plans to ignore the law and shove DEI back into Florida through executive action,” said Florida GOP Chairman Evan Power. “He’s daring the Legislature to sue him because he knows voters already rejected this failed agenda. Byron Donalds will follow the law that Jolly wants override. Floridians deserve a governor that rewards merit, protects equal opportunity, and treats every individual fairly and that is not David Jolly.”
