Zelenskyy Reveals Date of Signing Ukraine’s Peace Plan
Zelenskyy stressed that while the schedule depends on the willingness of all parties involved, the framework for ending the conflict is nearing completion.
"I hope that we will have a decision on all documents in January," Zelenskyy stated, explaining that the plan envisions Ukraine, the US, Russia, and Europe as signatories.
The revised framework reportedly includes a US proposal of legally binding security assurances lasting 15 years, modeled on an "Article 5–like" commitment. Zelenskyy is advocating for this guarantee to be extended to 50 years.
The president also confirmed that talks are ongoing about the potential deployment of US forces and a specialized monitoring mission to deter Russian provocations immediately after a ceasefire. He clarified that any decision on American troop deployment would rest solely with US leadership, under Washington’s authority.
Zelenskyy noted that discussions continue with Trump and representatives of a wider coalition. He emphasized: “This can be confirmed, to be honest, by the President of the United States of America. These are the troops of the United States, and that is why it is America that makes such decisions,” according to a news agency.
